KIEV, March 27 ??“ French banking group Credit Agricole S.A., which has been working for 13 years on the Ukrainian market through Calyon Bank, has agreed to buy 98% of Index-Bank for about $260 million, a news agency reported.

The acquisition will help Credit Agricole S.A. to further strengthen positions on the Ukrainian market by expanding on retail banking sector, analysts said.
