KIEV, Nov. 15 - About 7,000 medical workers from Ukraine annually leave to work abroad, where salaries for doctors are higher, said Larysa Kanarovska, head of the councils of the Kiev City Trade Union of Healthcare Workers.
The main reason of labor migration is low salaries in Ukraine, with the average wage being $100.
"Even what they offer in Belarus, $350, is not satisfactory. For reference, the salary of a surgeon in England is $300,000 a year and of a family physician $180,000," Kanarovska told Interfax.
