KIEV, Nov. 4 - Ukraine by the end of the month will create a new company to operate its natural gas pipelines moving gas from Russia to the European Union, Deputy Prime Minister Volodymyr Kystyon said Friday.
Mahistralni Gazoprovody Ukrayiny, or MGU, as the company will be known, will be created in line with Ukraine’s earlier commitments undertaken while accepting the EU’s Third Energy Package.
A special government team on Thursday approved the measure, which will now have to be approved by the Cabinet of Ministers before the end of the month.
