KIEV, Nov. 1 – Ukraine's Antimonopoly Committee has demanded the collection of UAH 172 billion from Russia's Gazprom, including the fine and penalty cost for non-payment of the fine in the due time.
"The penalty cost of UAH 180.5 billion was accrued for a delay of 140 days. Under Article 56 of the law on protection of economic competition, the penalty cost cannot exceed the fine, and the Antimonopoly Committee filed a claim to collect UAH 85.966 billion of the fine and UAH 85.966 billion of the penalty cost," a representative of the committee said.
The penalty cost is 1.5% of the fine a day.
