KIEV, Oct. 19 – Parliament's Committee on Fiscal Policy and Banking has upheld an appeal to President Petro Poroshenko to ask it to dismiss National Bank of Ukraine Governor Valeriya Gontareva.

Six out of the nine members of the committee voted for the decision at a meeting on Tuesday.

The committee members also decided to recommend the president should propose Gontareva's resignation based on paragraph 6 of Article 18 of the law on the National Bank of Ukraine "as a result of the loss of the impeccable business reputation of the NBU head."
