KIEV, Oct. 13 - Ukraine’s biggest natural gas producer UkrGazDobuvannia (UGV) and Romania’s Tacrom Services S.R.L. signed a one-year contract for 50 hydrofracking jobs, UGV reported Thursday.
Tacrom is expected to start the jobs within the next three weeks, Oleh Prokhorenko, the chairman of UGV, said. UGV will pay 190 million hryvnias, or $7.6 million, to Tacrom for the services.
UGV seeks to rely on hydrofracking technique in 2016-2017 to boost domestic natural gas and shale gas output in order to eliminate gas imports by 2020.
