KIEV, Oct. 5 - Ukraine’s anti-monopoly committee on Wednesday filed a lawsuit in a Ukrainian court seeking to enforce the payment of an 86 billion hryvnia ($3.4 billion) penalty earlier imposed on Russian gas company Gazprom.

The committee imposed the penalty in January to punish Gazprom for allegedly abusing its monopoly position as a gas supplier in 2009 through 2015. Gazprom lost its appeals in July, but had refused to pay.
