KIEV, Sept. 29 - Energoatom and Westinghouse Electric Company have agreed on the transfer of technology and knowhow to step up safety and optimize the operation of nuclear power plants in Ukraine.

"SE NNEGC Energoatom and Westinghouse have agreed to begin work on the Efficiency Improvement Program (EIP) for Ukrainian nuclear plants. This agreement to proceed on the EIP represents a significant new partnership between Energoatom and Westinghouse in the joint development of Ukraine's nuclear energy," Energoatom's press service said.
