KIEV, Sept. 6 - Russia's Gazprom has increased its gas transmission order via Ukraine to Europe by 20%, Naftogaz Ukrayiny said.
"The volume requested for transmission equals 282 billion cubic meters (bcm) per day. The increase is several times higher than level stipulated in the contract between Naftogaz and the Russian company," Naftogaz said.
"Despite this, Ukraine intends to fulfill the order," it said.
According to the information available to Naftogaz, the abrupt increase in the transmission order was caused by an outage of the OPAL pipeline joining the Nord Stream with gas transmission systems in Germany and Central Europe.
