KIEV, Aug. 29 – Former acting rector of the National Aviation University Volodymyr Kharchenko, who was caught when taking a bribe, and a lawyer, who acted as his middleman, were notified that they are suspected of committing crimes under part 4 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (the receipt of illegal benefits on a large scale, or committed by an official), the National Anti-Corruption Bureau said.
"On August 27, the arrested acting rector of NAU and the intermediary (lawyer) were notified of suspicion under part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. If they are found guilty by the court they face imprisonment from 8 to 12 years with confiscation of property, and deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions and engage in certain activities for up to three years," the NABU press service said on Saturday.
