NEW YORK, Aug. 19 - Paul Manafort, the controversial campaign chairman for Donald Trump, resigned Friday after a slew of damaging accusations about his ties to Russia and a pro-Russian party in Ukraine.
Ukrainian anti-corruption authorities said on Friday they were investigating Manafort after documents revealed possible secret payments allocated to Manafort to the tune of more than $12.7 million from Ukraine's pro-Kremlin Party of Regions.
