New British PM reassures Poroshenko on sanctions against Russia
Journal Staff Report

KIEV, Aug. 1 – The UK's position on sanctions against Russia remains unchanged: sanctions will be extended until the Minsk agreements on Donbas settlement are fully implemented, British Prime Minister Theresa May said during a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

The UK prime minister also stressed her country's strong commitment to the policy of non-recognition of the annexation of Crimea by Russia.

May and Poroshenko discussed topical issues of bilateral and international cooperation in the context of the UK's decision to leave the EU. Poroshenko thanked the British government for their firm position of support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
