KIEV, July 27 – Ukrainian airlines saw a 19.4% rise in passenger transportation in January-June year-over-year, to 3.26 million people.
According to the State Aviation Service, 28 Ukrainian airlines that serviced 34,100 commercial flights operated on the passenger and cargo transportation market in H1. Some 17 Ukrainian airlines were involved in passenger transportation last year.
"The upward pace recorded in the period is linked to boosting transportation volumes by Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) by 25.7%. Azur Air Ukraine saw a 12.2% rise in passenger transportation, UM Air – a 17.1% rise, Yanair - a 20-fold rise, Dart - a 20.3% rise and Wind Rose – a 6.5% rise," the authority said.
