KIEV, July 13 – The proposal to identify persons to be in charge of swift de-mining and restoration of the Mykytivka-Mayorsk railway was made at the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group's economic subgroup in Minsk, Darka Olifer, the press secretary of former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma representing Kiev in the group, has said.
"The subgroup on economic issues has considered the entire package of problems within its scope of competence – water supplies, recovery of Ukrainian assets, resumption of operation of railways, and social issues. The main focus has been made on the security issues [that arise] during efforts to achieve these goals. It has been proposed to identify those persons in charge of promptly demining and restoring the Mykytivka-Mayorsk railway running line, and the resumption of freight transportation by night along the Yasynuvata-Skotovata running line," Olifer wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.
