KIEV, May 26 – Apparently hoping to get a jump on the competition, Kiev authorities intend to start preparations for the Eurovision 2017 song contest, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.
"Kiev starts preparations for the song contest Eurovision 2017 to hold it at a high-level next year," the mayor said.
The Ukrainian singer Jamala won in the final of Eurovision 2016 with the song "1944," which took place in Stockholm (Sweden) on May 14. In accordance with the competition rules, Eurovision 2017 is to be held in the winner country.
