KIEV, April 28 – Russian Black Sea Fleet Commander Vice Admiral Alexander Vitko, who is suspected of committing grave crimes against Ukraine, is hiding from investigative agencies, Ukrainian officials report.
The prosecutor put Vitko on a wanted list and a Kiev court authorized his arrest.
"On April 26, in regard to this Vitko, who is hiding from investigative agencies in order to escape criminal liability, the prosecutor put him on the 'wanted' list and instructed the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine to search for him. On April 27, the investigation judge of Pechersky District Court of Kiev concurred and authorized the detention of Russia Black Sea Fleet Commander A. Vitko," the press service of Prosecutor General's Office reported.
