KIEV, April 13 – Parliament has given preliminary approval to a bill that temporarily, until December 31, 2017, cuts the excise duties on used passenger cars by 50-96.4% to minimize the schemes of temporary importation for tax evasions.

A total of 226 lawmakers backed the decision on Tuesday.

"The tax burden on new cars in Ukraine is 47% and on used cars – 170%. The excise duties are disproportionally high," MP Tetiana Ostrikova (Samopomich faction) said.
