ROME, April 8 - World wheat production in the new marketing season (2016/17) would be 20 million tons less than in 2015, reaching 712.7 million tons.
Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) put its first forecast for world wheat production.
"The year-on-year decrease is mainly the result of expected declines in the Russian Federation and Ukraine, where plantings were trimmed because of dry weather," FAO said.
