KIEV, March 29 – National Nuclear Generating Company EnergoAtom has signed a contract with Westinghouse Electric Company on supply of the BEACON software for the active zone monitoring system at reactor five of Zaporizhia nuclear power plant (NPP), the company reported on Tuesday.

BEACON is an advance solution providing for metering the key parameters of reactors to secure safety. It has been used at reactor three of Yuzhnoukrainsk NPP.

The cost of the contract signed by Zaporizhia NPP and Westinghouse is $1.954 million.
