KIEV, Feb. 25 – U.S. Cargill due to hostilities in eastern Ukraine has lost control over its oilseed crushing plant in Donetsk built in 2000 to crush 300,000 tons of seeds a year, although the company hopes to resume operation of the plant in the future.
"I still hope that once when control over the region is restored we will start working there," Andreas Rickmers, head of Cargill's grain and oilseeds business in Europe, said in Kiev on Wednesday during the signing of the investment agreement between M.V. Cargo and U.S. Cargill to invest $100 million in the construction of a grain terminal at the Yuzhny port.
