KIEV, Feb. 1 - Ukraine asked the European Union and the European Energy Community to shut down Russia’s planed Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline project, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said Monday.

The European Union has last year expressed skepticism about the project, which is facing EU’s competition authorities.
