KIEV, Feb. 14 ??“ Russian Agriculture Minister Alexei Gordeyev, who had been refusing to meet his Ukrainian counterpart for weeks, met Ukrainian opposition lawmakers Tuesday to promise a quick action on lifting restrictions of Ukrainian imports.

The meeting, which has been widely covered by the Russian media, suggests it may be aimed at helping the pro-Russian opposition group to score better at March 26 general election in Ukraine.
