KIEV, Dec. 11 – President Petro Poroshenko and Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades have discussed the extension of EU sanctions against Russia and the prospects for the introduction of a visa-free regime by the EU for Ukraine.

"The firm and principled position of the entire European Union, with your active participation in the matter of sanctions for the failure to implement the Minsk agreements, the extension of sanctions due to the fact that Russia does not fulfill its obligations, the Ukrainian people, and I am personally very grateful to you for this," Poroshenko said after the talks with Anastasiades in Kiev on Friday.
