MOSCOW, Nov. 25 – Ukraine's ban on air transit plays little role for Russian commercial aviation, the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) said in a report.
"After the disaster near Donetsk, an overwhelming majority of Russian airlines stopped transit flights though the Ukrainian air space for security reasons," Rosaviatsiya said in its report.
Until recently, a small number of Russian airlines conducted transit flights through the territory of Ukraine when the need arose, the agency said.
