Anti-gay discrimination law an important step to visas, says EU rep
Journal Staff Report

KIEV, Nov. 12 – Jan Tombinski, head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, said that the gay anti-discrimination amendments introduced into the Labor Code of Ukraine, are an important step on the path to the liberalization of the visa regime between Ukraine and the EU.

"I welcome Verkhovna Rada's amendment of the Labor Code explicitly prohibiting discrimination on various grounds. This is in line with Ukraine's human rights obligations undertaken with the United Nations, the Council of Europe and the EU. This is an important element in meeting the requirements of the Visa Liberalization Action Plan," Tombinki wrote on the Facebook page of the EU Delegation to Ukraine.
