MOSCOW, Nov. 12 – Electricity supplies to Crimea have been requested by Russia and confirmed by Ukraine for the whole month in the amount required to cover the Black Sea peninsula's needs, Russia's Energy Ministry said in response to Kiev's announcement of plans to halt imports of electricity from Russia in the near future.
Electricity is exported to Ukraine in order to cover the needs of Crimea. Ukraine has said that repair work at the Khmelnytsky and Rivne nuclear power plants, which will make it possible to increase electricity supplies from these plants, is in the final stage.
