KIEV, Oct. 28 - Ukraine and Latvia will strengthen trading cooperation between the two countries in connection with the free trade area (FTA) between Ukraine and the European Union which enters into force on January 1, 2016, President Petro Poroshenko said.
"A document between the Ukrainian Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food and the Ministry of Agriculture of Latvia has been signed. First of all, I want Ukrainian agricultural producers to get access to the powerful market of the European Union. You know that a deepened and encompassing free trade area will fully enter into force on January 1, 2016, and Ukrainian producers will use the experience of Latvian manufacturers and the logistics and transportation consulting capabilities of our Latvian partners in full," Poroshenko said at a joint briefing with Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis in Kiev.
