KIEV, Oct. 16 - Ukraine on Friday approved a plan to reform the national energy company Naftogaz Ukrayiny, taking the country closer to securing $800 million in loans for natural gas purchases.
The plan calls for reforming corporate management, making the company more transparent before the loans can be disbursed, Andriy Kobolev, the head of Naftogaz, said.
“Today the plan was approved by the Cabinet,” Kobolev said at a press conference after a government meeting. “This will have two very important consequences.”
