MINSK, Oct. 1 – The Minsk National Airport and regional airports of Belarus are ready to handle a possible surge in passenger transit from Russia to Ukraine, Belarusian First Deputy Transport and Communications Minister Yevgeny Rogachev said in an online conference hosted by the BelTA state-owned news agency's website.
"For now, we do not expect the aviation authorities and the Belarusian transport sector as a whole to have any problems connected to this situation [the aviation conflict between Russia and Ukraine]. The Minsk National Airport, regional airports and Belavia [Belarusian Airlines] are ready to receive passengers who may choose our country as a point of transit to Ukraine," Rogachev said.
