KIEV, Sept. 29 – Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in New York to discuss bilateral cooperation and the Donbas situation.

The Japanese prime minister gave credit to the peace efforts of the Ukrainian president and said there was no alternative to the Minsk agreements, Poroshenko's press service has reported.

Abe told the Ukrainian leader that Tokyo would deny recognition to the Donbas election outcomes.
