KIEV, Sept. 8 – The Individuals' Deposit Guarantee Fund has asked the government to provide an additional UAH 20 billion to ensure payments to depositors of banks where temporary administration has been introduced or those that are being liquidated, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said.
"We should seriously talk to the Deposit Guarantee Fund about how to make the fund management system as transparent as possible, how banks are liquidated, how their property is sold, and how quickly deposits are paid to those people who suffered, including due to abuse of power by top managers and the owners of these banks," Yatseniuk said at a meeting of the Financial Stability Council in Kiev on Monday.
