KIEV, Sept. 4 – Public discussion on the draft decision of the National Bank of Ukraine on reducing the maximum amount of cash payments from UAH 150,000 to UAH 50,000 ended on August 25 and the NBU will soon make a decision on the matter, NBU Deputy head Yakiv Smoliy said.

"At the beginning of September 2015 some UAH 276 billion was registered outside banks. One of the main objectives pursued by the regulator is the proposal to reduce restrictions on cash payments to the level of UAH 50,000 to attract funds to the banking system," he said.
