MOSCOW, Aug. 20 – The Nord Stream offshore gas pipeline from Russia to northern Europe was restarted at 7:00 a.m. Moscow time on Thursday after a nine-day scheduled shutdown for maintenance, European gas transport operators reported.
The offshore pipeline was shut down on the morning of August 11. On the day of the shutdown, there was a malfunction on the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline and at one point gas delivery stopped completely. This meant that Russian gas had only one export route left - through Ukraine. But the equipment at the Malnov compressor station on the border between Poland and Germany was quickly restarted and transportation of gas resumed on the same day.
