KIEV, Aug. 11 – President Petro Poroshenko has signed a bill into law to increase spending on defense and security by UAH 5.3 billion, according to a posting on the parliament's official website.

The parliament passed the said bill on July 17. "These amendments are related to the needs of the Defense Ministry first of all for military uniforms and gear, paying families of the deceased and wounded soldiers, and providing food," First Deputy Finance Minister Ihor Umansky said while presenting the document in parliament.
