20,844 Ukrainians have been forced to leave Crimea, government says

KHERSON, Aug. 11 – As of early August, 20,844 Crimean residents have been forced to move from Russian-occupied Crimea and Sevastopol and to settle on mainland Ukraine, the government says.

Based on the results of the monitoring conducted in cooperation with the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine and regional state administrations, Crimean residents mainly settled in Lviv (3,233 people), Odessa (2,043), Kiev (1,217), Mykolaiv (1,045 people), Kharkiv (898 people) regions and Kiev (4,665 people), as one can learnt from the website of the Mission of Ukrainian President in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

In July citizens that had to move from the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and Sevastopol to mainland Ukraine preferred to stay in Mykolaiv (76 people) and Lviv regions (56 people).
