KIEV, Aug. 5 – On Tuesday, a memorial to the victims of Holodomor in 1932-1933 in Ukraine was installed near the Capitol in Washington D.C., the U.S. embassy in Ukraine reported.
The participants at the event included Valeriy Charly, the ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S., artist Larysa Kurylas, U.S. Committee for Ukrainian Holodomor Genocide Awareness 1932-1933 representative Michael Sawkiw, Mary Katherine Lanzillotta of Hartman-Cox Architects, as well as representatives of Forrester Construction Company and the Laran Bronze Foundry.
