Poroshenko, in Ankara, promises to protect Crimean Tatar rights

KIEV, Aug. 3 - Ukraine will never accept the violation of rights of the Crimean Tatar people and will do everything possible to return Ukrainian power to Crimea President Petro Poroshenko told a Tatar conference in Turkey.

"I want to assure you that Ukraine will never, under any circumstances, accept the violation of the rights of its citizens, human rights, the rights of the Crimean Tatar people to live freely on their land. Ukraine together with our international partners will make every effort to restore the rule of law on the peninsula and return Ukrainian authority to Crimea," the head of state told the participants in the second World Congress of Crimean Tatars held in Ankara on August 1-2.
