KIEV, July 28 – Changes to the law on organ transplantation include the introduction of "presumed consent" and the division of the terms "cadaveric" and "live" donor, First Deputy Health Minister Oleksandra Pavlenko said.
"First of all, we suggest introducing the term "presumed consent" and we have spelled out the procedure of its realization in detail. Secondly, we suggest the division of the terms "cadaveric" and "live" donor. Virtually, we don't have the term cadaveric donation now. Cadaveric transplantation isn't prohibited, but it's very difficult to get the organ in practice," Pavlenko said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
