KIEV, Jan. 27 ??“ Gaz de France has been seeking to participate in natural gas extraction projects in Ukraine amid the country??™s attempts to boost domestic production to reduce dependence on Russia.

Gaz de France officials met Nadra Ukrayiny, the state company that owns licenses for a bulk of recently discovered oil and gas reserves, for talks on the projects, Nadra said in a statement Friday.
