KIEV, July 15 – Energy and Coal Industry Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn has again warned against the hasty privatization of electricity generating company Centrenergo and some other energy companies, and said that investors should be obliged to modernize units and buy coal from state coalmines.

"We must conquer temptation of "quick decisions," as thoughtless privatization would give nothing and would discredit the idea," he wrote in the Ukrainska Pravda publication.

He said that under the guise of privatization one company was very nearly able to buy the entire heat generation capacity of the country.
