KIEV, Jan. 28 ??“ Thousands of workers from throughout Ukraine have been dispatched to Alchevsk over the weekend in response to an accident that had left much of the city without heat supply during the freezing cold.

President Viktor Yushchenko met Emergency Situations Minister Viktor Baloha over the accident Saturday and is expected to visit the city Monday, suggesting the accident is serious.
