KIEV, July 9 – The Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry will review its grain yield forecast if the current heat wave continues next week.
"We won't review the forecast set at 59-60 million tons yet, but if such weather continues, we'll adjust the projection in a week," Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Oleksiy Pavlenko said at a briefing in Kiev on Thursday.
He said continuous rain in southern Ukraine caused fungus and pathogen-carried wheat diseases, therefore the ministry will revise its forecast for wheat downwards.
