KIEV, July 7 - Ukraine has confirmed its consent to a new 'winter' package for the 2015/2016 heating season based on a trilateral protocol between Ukraine, Russia and the European Union and a supplement to the gas contract between NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy and Russia's OAO Gazprom, similar to the 2014/2015 'winter' package, and guarantees transit of Russian gas to Europe if the deal is made, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said.
"The approach proposed in Brussels is totally accepted by the government and the president. Our joint position with the EU is the signing of the trilateral protocol and a supplement to the contract precisely the way [it was done in 2014]," the prime minister said at an expanded meeting of the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry Board in Kiev on Tuesday.
