KIEV, June 22 - More than one third of Ukrainians (37.4%) would have voted for Ukraine's membership in NATO in a referendum were it to have been held in late May and about the same share (35.6%) would have opposed this prospect, according to a poll conduced by the Kiev International Sociology Institute.
Over 10% said they would not take part in the referendum and 16.2% were undecided.
If all citizens who have made up their minds had taken part in the referendum, voter turnout would have stood at about 73% and the votes would have been divided into 51% (pros) and 49% (cons).
