KIEV, June 9 – Deputy Defense Minister on European Integration (until recently head of Ukraine's Mission to NATO), Ihor Dolhov, has said that the governments of NATO member states should consider Ukraine's requests for weapons more favorably.
"I'd like to address members of the national parliaments with the request on the possibility to facilitate a more favorable [approach] of NATO member states' governments, when considering Ukraine's requests on weaponry, provision of non-lethal and in prospect lethal weapons to Ukrainian Armed Forces. Without such cooperation, it will be very difficult to conduct a complete reform of the defense sector, especially the Armed Forces," Dolhov said at a meeting of NATO-Ukraine inter-parliamentary council in Kiev on Monday.
