We'll wait '50 years' for Russia to leave Crimea, says Harper
Journal Staff Report

KIEV, June 8 - Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has reiterated that Canada would never recognize the incorporation of Crimea into Russia whether "it takes five months or 50 years" to return the peninsula under Ukrainian sovereignty.

Canada would never accept the borders of a sovereign state being changed by force, Harper told reporters after talks in Kiev with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

Harper also reiterated a demand that Moscow withdraw its troops who are allegedly deployed in eastern Ukraine back to Russia.
