KIEV, May 12 - Ukraine is able to withstand any potential natural gas supply crisis due to its efforts to diversify imports over the past year, President Petro Poroshenko said Tuesday.
Ukraine accelerated imports of gas from Europe in June 2014 after Russia, once its main gas supplier, had suspended supplies completely for six months.
Russia, which is accused by the U.S. and the European Union of efforts to destabilize eastern parts of Ukraine, cited dispute over gas prices as a reason for the suspended supplies.
