KIEV, April 30 - Ukraine's emergencies authority on Thursday said that forest fires in the area of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant had not caused any rise in local natural radiation levels.

"Our divisions are equipped with special chemical labs, and they have mobile labs as well. At least, their measurements haven't resulted to date in any information on any threats," Mykola Chechotkin, deputy head of the State Emergency Situations Service, told a briefing in Kiev.
