VIENNA, April 30 – Ukrainian businessman Dmytro Firtash has said that he played a crucial role in securing a compromise between the opposition and the then president, Viktor Yanukovych, in February 2014, and suspects that Batkivschyna Party Leader Yulia Tymoshenko was behind the disruption of these agreements.
Speaking in Vienna on Thursday at a hearing on his extradition to the United States, Firtash said that he persuaded MPs, on whom he had influence, to help the opposition and to pass a decision on the return of the 2004 Constitution which restricts the powers of the president Ukraine, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.
