Pynzenyk: Current account surplus may shrink to $200 mln in 2006

KIEV, Jan. 20 - Ukraine's current account surplus may shrink to $200 mln in 2006 as Russia almost doubled gas prices for former Soviet Union partner, said Finance Minister Viktor Pynzenyk.

Ukraine may have between $200 mln and $300 mln current-account deficit in the first quarter of 2006 amid after gas prices increased, said Anatoliy Shapovalov, the first deputy governor of the National Bank on Dec. 28.
